The final volume in The Lost, set in Copenhagen around the time of the First World War.

Dr. Louise Juhl is working on a secret research project funded by an anonymous benefactor. In a race against time, she must help develop a vaccine against a deadly biological weapon created by the German armed forces: an influenza virus. Before long, however, Louise realizes that not everything is as it should be.

When she finds her friend, police officer Ewald Hansen, among the young French and English war-wounded soldiers who have volunteered as test subjects during their convalescence in Copenhagen, she therefore tries to persuade him not to take part. But he refuses to speak to her. The next day, he is gone.

What has happened to him? And why does Louise suddenly feel that she is being followed? What is going on at the secret facility on the outskirts of the city, to which Louise has no access? And who is the anonymous benefactor really?

In The Righteous Blood, police officer Ewald Hansen, journalist Amalie Bang, and Dr. Louise Juhl join forces one last time to fight evil—but the closer Louise comes to the truth, the more dangerous it becomes.
